b. In addition to the data mentioned above, cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website. These are small text files stored on your hard disk associated with the browser you use, and which transmit certain information to the location that placed the cookies (here, this is us). Cookies cannot, given the current state of technology, run programs or transmit viruses to your computer, but merely serve to make the internet more user-friendly and effective.

c. Our website(s) use the following types of cookies, the scope and functionality of which are explained below:

Transient cookies. Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. These include, in particular, session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, which allows various requests from your browser to be assigned to the shared session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. These session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.

Persistent cookies. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which may vary depending on the cookie. However, you can delete cookies yourself at any time in your browser settings.

d. You can modify your browser settings so that, for example, you refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. In this case, however, we must point out that you may no longer be able to use all functions of our website.

e. We also use cookies to identify you for subsequent visits if you have an account with us – otherwise, you will need to log in each time you visit.

f. The Flash cookies we use are not recorded by your browser, but by your Flash plug-in. We also use HTML5 storage objects that are stored on your device. These objects store the required data regardless of the browser you use and do not have an automatic expiration date. You can prevent the processing of Flash cookies by installing appropriate add-ons in your browser or by using it in private mode.

3. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

Personal data beyond the information stored by cookies will only be processed by us if you voluntarily provide it to us, for example, when you register with us, enter into a contractual relationship with us, or otherwise contact us. This includes exclusively contact details and information about the concerns you approach us with.

We use the personal data you provide exclusively to fulfill the respective purpose of processing (e.g., registration, sending newsletters, processing an order, sending information and advertising, administering a competition, answering a question, enabling access to certain information) and/or if this is permitted by law (in particular, pursuant to Art. 6 of the EU GDPR) (e.g., sending advertising and information to existing customers).

The purpose of processing your data is to operate our website and provide targeted, company-specific information, including the presentation of our range of goods and services (marketing). Any further use of your data will only occur if you have expressly consented in advance. You can revoke your consent at any time, as explained in detail below.

4. Storage Period

We generally store data that you have provided to us exclusively for customer service or for marketing and information purposes for a period of three years after our last contact. However, if you so wish, we will delete your data before the expiration of this period, provided there are no legal obstacles to doing so.

In the event of a contract initiation or conclusion, we will process your personal data after the contract has been fully processed until the expiration of the guarantee, warranty, limitation period, and statutory retention periods applicable to us, and beyond that until the end of any legal disputes in which the data is required as evidence.

5. Newsletter

You have the option of subscribing to our free newsletter. This newsletter will regularly provide you with all the latest news and information about our company, as well as tailored advertising. To receive our newsletter, you need a valid email address. We will check the email address you entered in our registration form to determine whether you actually wish to receive newsletters. This is done by sending an email to the email address you provided, which you can confirm receipt by clicking on a link provided. After confirming the email, you are subscribed to our newsletter. (Double Opt-In)

When you first subscribe to the newsletter, we save your IP address, the date, and the time of your registration. This is done for security reasons in case a third party misuses your email address and subscribes to our newsletter without your knowledge. We do not collect or process any other data for the newsletter subscription; the data is used exclusively for receiving the newsletter.

Your newsletter registration data will not be shared with third parties. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time; details on how to unsubscribe can be found in the confirmation email and in each individual newsletter.

6. Tools and Applications Used

a. We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This service uses so-called “cookies” (see above). The information generated by cookies about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server and stored there.

On our behalf, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

The storage of cookies required by Google Analytics can be prevented by an appropriate setting in your browser software; however, this may result in you not being able to fully use all functions of this website. You can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and its transmission and processing by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

If you would like further information about the nature, scope and purpose of the data collected by Google, we recommend reading Google’s privacy policy.

b. We also use the Google Adwords service to bring our attractive offers and products to your attention via advertisements on external websites. With this tool we can determine precisely how the individual advertising measures relate to specific campaigns. We thus pursue the aim of displaying tailored advertisements to you according to your interests and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs within this framework.

The advertisements shown to you are served by Google via so-called “Ad Servers.” For this purpose, we use Ad Server cookies through which certain parameters, such as the display of ads or clicks by users, can be measured to determine the success of advertising campaigns. This works in such a way that, in cases where you reach our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords stores a cookie in your browser, which typically expires after 30 days. This cookie is not intended to identify you personally, but to store for analysis purposes the unique cookie ID, the number of ad impressions per placement, the last impression (relevant for post-view conversions), and opt-out information.

We ourselves do not collect or process personal data in the context of using Google Adwords, but only receive statistical evaluations from Google, based on which we can determine which of our advertising campaigns are particularly effective.

You can also prevent participation in this tracking procedure in addition to the measures already described by disabling conversion-tracking cookies by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com,” or by permanently disabling them in your Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome browsers at the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin.

c. In addition we use Google Remarketing, a procedure by which we also wish to address you after you have left our website. In this context, after you have visited our website, we can display our advertisements to you during your further internet usage. This is done via cookies stored in your browser, through which Google records and evaluates your use of various websites.

For example, Google can determine your previous visit to our website; however, according to Google, remarketing involves pseudonymization of the processed personal data.

d. This website also uses the online marketing tool DoubleClick by Google. DoubleClick uses cookies to deliver ads that are relevant to users, improve campaign performance reports, or prevent a user from seeing the same ads more than once. Through a cookie ID, Google records which ads are shown in which browser and can prevent duplicates. In addition, DoubleClick can use cookie IDs to track so-called conversions related to ad requests. This occurs, for example, when a user sees a DoubleClick ad and later visits the advertiser’s website with the same browser and makes a purchase there. According to Google, DoubleClick cookies do not contain personal information. You can additionally prevent participation in this tracking by disabling conversion-tracking cookies by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com,” or by permanently disabling them in your Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome browsers at the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin.

e. On our website we use Google Maps services. This allows us to display interactive maps directly on the site and enables convenient use of the map function.

By visiting our website, Google receives information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our site and the personal data listed in section c above. This occurs regardless of whether you are logged into a Google account or not. If you are logged into Google, your data is directly associated with your account. If you do not wish this, you must log out of Google before using this service. Google uses your data for advertising, market research, and website optimization purposes. You have a right to object to the use of your data for these purposes, which you must exercise directly with Google.

Further information about the purpose and scope of data collection can be found in Google’s privacy policy, which you can find at http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy. Google processes your data also in the USA and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield.

f. On our website we also link to other websites; this is done solely for informational purposes. These websites are not under our control and therefore are not subject to the provisions of this privacy policy. If you activate a link, the operator of that website may collect data about you and process it in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours.

  1. Data transfer

A transfer of your data to third parties generally does not take place, unless we are legally obliged to do so, the data transfer is necessary for the execution of a contract between us, or you have previously explicitly consented to the disclosure of your data. External processors or other partners receive your data only to the extent necessary for contract execution or if we have a legitimate interest. To the extent that one of our processors comes into contact with your personal data, we ensure that they comply with data protection laws to the same extent as we do.

Your personal data will not be sold or otherwise marketed to external group companies.

If our partners or processors are located in a third country, i.e., a state outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we will inform you of the consequences of this circumstance in the description of the offer.

  1. Security

We implement numerous technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against manipulation, loss, destruction, and access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with the development of technology on the internet.

  1. Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act, you as the data subject have the following rights and remedies:

Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR). You have the right to obtain information about whether and, if so, which of your personal data is processed. For your protection—so that no one else can access your data—we may need to verify your identity in an appropriate manner. Right of rectification (Art. 16) and deletion (Art. 17 GDPR). You have the right to immediately rectify inaccurate personal data concerning you, or, considering the purposes of the data processing, to complete incomplete data and to request the deletion of your data, provided the criteria of Art. 17 GDPR are met. Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR). Under the statutory conditions, you have the right to restrict the processing of all collected personal data. These data will then be processed only with your consent or for asserting and enforcing legal claims. Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You can request the unhindered and unrestricted transfer of collected personal data to a third party. Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR). Withdrawal of consent. If you have separately given consent to the processing of your data, you can withdraw it at any time. Such a withdrawal affects the lawfulness of processing your personal data after you have expressed it to us. If you exercise the above rights under the GDPR, we will respond promptly, but at the latest within one month, with the requested action or a justification for any delay.

We will respond to all reasonable requests within the legal framework free of charge and as promptly as possible.

For requests concerning the right of access, the right to confidentiality, to rectification, or to deletion, the data protection authority is competent.
